Coming after their addictive recent single 'Ladybird', fresh-faced Irish outfit NewDad have shared a second sample of their forthcoming Banshee EP. Opening to seesawing guitar parts, ethereal vocals conjure a hazy atmosphere that's quickly interrupted by a considerably rockier bass line. The drums on 'Say It' are propulsive and perfectly executed, bringing bags of energy to the otherwise shoegazey piece. As ever, elements of pop shine through, as vocalist Julie's catchy melodies and carefree delivery put you instantly at ease. Oozing with a sense of giddy romance, the subject matter of the song is actually the opposite. The band explain: "Say It’ is about unrequited love, about when someone is with you but not really, it’s supposed to capture that frustration you feel when you’re giving someone your all and they’re giving you nothing in return. The fast pace of the song makes it feel like I’m venting which works considering the feelings of irritation and bitterness I’m talking about when you don’t want to like someone but you can’t help it’.
